That Holiday?

Tha holiday that I’m so desparately needing/wanting? It’s a month away! :)

Boxing Day (Dec 26th) Rish and I are heading to Queenstown, NZ to have the summer NZ trip we’ve wanted, and the celebrate our 10th anniversay :) *dies*

The flights have been booked for awhile now, but we just haven’t gotten around to the accomodation side of things. Browsing now, I see a few places that could be promising – we don’t want to spend too much, but since it is something special don’t exactly want cheap and nasty! :p

We’re staying with friends for a couple of the nights, and then needing to find someplace for new years and the night after, but are also having a few nights to ourselves… for some much-needed r&r…

I’m getting excited just typing about it!

Queenstown, loved it there. Are you planning on doing any of the extreme stuff while you’re visiting? (I recommend the K Bridge bungy & Canyon Swing, hee.)

Not sure on accomodation, but there are plenty of places there. Good luck and have a great trip. :)

Oh, I’m not! :) Rish is more into taht, but I think we’ll stay on solid groud while we’re there :) I’m a bit of a wuss! :)

We boooked accom the other night, as promised. I love lastminute.com.au! Especially since you can get deals on there when it’s not even the last minute! (ie before they actually go up on wotif)… going to stay at teh Mercure.. Rish keeps saying over and over “King bed!”, so i think he approves!

Mercure sounds fantastic — close to everything too, I love the main street of Queenstown.

anything else you’d recommend now that you know I’m not going the adventuroous stuff? We’re planning on visitn g wineries and going for walks and stuff, and also some plain old relaxing!

You can take the gondola up to the Skyline restaurant which overlooks Queenstown – gorgeous at night, there’s a non-adventurous luge to come down, or you can go down via gondola too. ;)

There are some fabulous wineries too – check out this one: http://www.queenstownwinetrail.co.nz/

I also went horse riding there, which was great as I’m useless.. though they gave me the biggest horse I’ve ever seen in my life! I think the company was Moonlight Stables? They were great. Good if you’ve had enough of walks and want something different.

ooh that view looks nice at night *saves pennies* :D Thogh the idea of luge after a buffet meal? probably not! :D

We’ll definately be trying to local wines and produce though while we’re there!

    thanks for the links
