Dinner For One
Rish is off to the Gold Coast for the week to attend Ninja Camp (at least that’s what phil called it – it’s a martial arts camp and grading/comp week for the weapons arts he does)… well at least he will be once Sydney Airport reopens – poor thing, it’s closed due to the bad weather up there!
So for me that means extr time to myself, missing him (at nights mostly – though I tend to get over it whe I realise how much space I have in bed!), but also it means cooking for myself. I mean, I cook or help cook dinner most nights, but I tend to lack motivation when it’s just me. I’m not one for cooking up a big stir-fry for the week (two nights, yes, but 3 nights plus a couple of lunches? kill me now, please!)… so I usually resort to salads and small pieces of meat.
Yes, I’m doing the same this week!My trolley looked oh-so-dinner-for-one this afternoon as I pushed it around woolies. Maybe it was the extra Weight Watchers microwave meals I added in (for lunchs and for when I really cannot be bothered!). I also had a huge bag of tomatoes, and some chickpeas, to mix it up a little I think I might experiment a bit with the spices in the pantry :)
I’ve also tried to plan my lunche this week – breadrolls, tins of tuna, and extra salad for these… also dried apricots and fruit cups for easy snacking. Otherwise it’s across to the cafe near work and chocolates from the kitchen…
I now need to make a to-do list of things to achieve that I rather do when Rish is away because it means I’m not aking from our time… like
- Dying my hair. I have another purplish colour under the bathroom sink, waiting for me to make a mess with. I had contemplated doing something different, but I may leave that until after my sister’s wedding (Feb 23)
- Waxing eyebrows. It’s just a neatening up his time, so I think I can manage for myself, but I will have to book a proper appointment because the wedding so I can look so hot right now. I don’t think I’ve really mentioned the wedding on here, so I shall have to do some filling in posts (I have one up my sleeve about a dream I had last night, involving chairlifts to the church)
- Any upgrading that I need to do web-wise. And Layout muckings about
I Think that’s it for things I’d rather leave til when Rish is very busy… but I have a one other thing to achieve this week:
Daily gym sessions. I did a big cardio one today, so I’ll fit in my “sunday” weights session tomorrow, after netball, because we have an early game. It’s rediculous that the game times vary from 6pm to 9:20pm…
Okay, some mutterings just hit my in-box. Here goes!
- President :: Nixon. (huh??)
- Stare :: Care bear stare!
- Embrace :: engulf
- Movie :: home movie
- Everything :: and anything
- Profile :: pictues
- Satire :: The Chaser!
- Erratic :: deliveries. Like Tait and Johnson in the test this week.
- Costume :: Cosplay
- Secretary :: The Secretary. It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for ;)
I’m going to be singing Avril Langine “Hot” all night (damn is she hot in the film clip *swoons* I love a good corset and riding crop ensemble…) Due to using the word “rediculous” above and seeing the clip at the gym today. Guilty pleasures? Avril!

Holy crapstick I hate avril. I mean, corsets and riding crops are hella fun but seriously, avril and her whiney little yap can go back to the kennels. People like that take the “cool” out of things I like. I had to stop wearing long shorts, skate shoes and collars because of that cow. “Hey Kelkel, you’re looking very Avril today.” GRRRR! /end popstar rant
Ergh, I know. I can so barely manage to feed myself when Steve isn’t home. It’s esspecially bad because i’m more tempted to snack on junk instead of eating a real meal. So far tonight i’ve eaten an cupcake. Go me. :/ I feel next will be a handful of cashews.

Ninja camp sounds fun. So I’ll take it that you like Avril Lavigne too? I like her songs too. Especially “When You’re Gone”, “My Happy Ending” and “Nobody’s Home”.
Anyway, we got the same answer for costume. :D

I claim to hate Avril. That doesn’t stop me from singing along to her when she comes on my shuffle. (Hey! Who downloaded Avril to my Ipod? cough cough…)
Have a good week on yer own – I do love the microwave meals for the lazy nights.
