Shoes!

Friday, 25 January 2008 | Tags : ,

Okay, so after about 3 hours wandering aroudn the Canberra Centre and Woden, I’ve come home with two suitable pairs of shoes:

Chinese Laundry Marly This little pair from Chinese Laundry which I got at David Jones Woden on sale. There’s sparlkies on the ankle there and on the crossover at the toes.

Then there was a pair from Betts at the Canberra Centre. I can’t find a picture online, so I’ll have to talk you through them. The brand is Sandra Miller. They’re also black with a wrap-around annkle strap. simpler crossover (just 2 bands) at the front, with smaller diamontes. Here’s the bit I’m not sure of – the heel is a metallic silver. The shoes are hot, I’ll have have to see if they work with the dress!

SO, I now have two new pairs of shoes. If the ones with the silver heels work with the dress, I’m wearing them – if not they’ll be hitting the Mooseheads dancefloor sometime in the not too distant future ;)

Note to self – when booking waxings, also organise a pedicure. Feet are gross!

Okay. Need to wind down and start settling for bed – a long drive tomorrow!

WELL, the chinese laundry ones look acceptable bridesmaidy wise and like they might have a small pain factor, something you will want to consider given you’re going to be walking on these things for like 12 hrs all up. Some like to go for the party feet, but thing is they make the straps on comfortable fitting shoes MUCH tighter, which just gives you blisters on the top of your feet. I see a lot of brides who have good intentions but when it comes down to the day they realise they can’t get the shoe on with the party feet inside!
As for which ones to choose, I guess look at your priorities. Are the metallic heels going to stand out in the bridal party, and if so do you care, does your sister care, and do you care if your sister cares? Of course the tradition is to blend in, but, trends shmends.
Another consideration may be height in comparisson to your groomsman in crime. If he’s a shorty you might wish to go for the flatter of the two.

Well, considering she still thought I should wear the silver shoes I’d organised to wear with the blue dress, I think these will stand out a little less.. but we’ll see what she thinks, I’ll take the things to Newcastle tonight and see…
