My first fun run!
I did my first fun run this morning. The 5km race of the Mothers Day Classic to raise money for breast cancer research.
Somehow (with lots and lots of encouragement from Rish! Thanks You!) I finsihed the race. Jogged it all, except for two short, maybe 10m each sections which were up to each bridge – they were steep though, so I certainly wasn’t slacking!! :)
The times will go up on Wednesday, so I’ll see what I did then :) Rish will then have evidence that i am able to run 5km, so should therefor do it more often with him :p
edit: I did it in 31:55!!! :)
Aside from being able to raise money for charity by running, this is all of course also in aid of me being the sexiest mermaid out there… at least next weekend at the sea-themed party we’re going to :)

Of course I don’t yet have a mermaid costume, but the idea is there. Do you think I can get seashells to make the top out of from Spotlight in Queanbeyan? ;)
- Track :: running track!
- Snake :: George and Sammy :)
- Assignment :: cramming

- First time :: I’ve never dressed as a mermaid before, nor had I run 5k before today

- Grip :: hold on!
- Shortcut :: a good way to get lost
Have you muttered today?

I’m sure you’ll be a more attractive mermaid than that baby, anyway. that is an ugly baby!
well done on the run.

I once helped Kirsty make a mermaid costume. We covered a bikini top with shells made out of crape paper and made the tail by cutting up green ones of those foily looking sunlight reflectors you put in the windows of cars, then we sewed them together in a tail shape. Finished off with a yellow sparkle wig she looked like the most awesome bodgey costumed mermaid ever.
Failing the mermaid thing you could always just go as plankton.

oh I’m sure I could easily get a really bad mermaid costume, but hopefully I can either put something together or hire something that isn’t too tired-looking.

What? You don’t like the pankton idea? :p Nothing says “sexy” like plankton.

If you can’t get seashells, or fake seashells (and failing Spotlight, I’d try Myers or similar, in the bathroom section), you could always get a length of silky green fabric and twist it into a “seaweed” halter top. Even stick some small seashells onto it. :)

Maybe next time I’ll be able to pull together a mermaid, but I don’t see it happening.
What I do see happening now is ome sort of pirate. Involving a pink and black corsetty like top I have (I haen’t been able to buy a corset of my own yet, too odd a shape).
Maybe a little like her?
