Sleep? What Sleep?

Had a lovely weekend *grins*

I finally watched Fight Club on Friday night. Excellent movie (not partial to the beating in of heads, but you know, have to deal with it to get the rest of it). Can say that I’ve seen it :) And could return the DVD to a friend we’d borrowed it off way too long ago :p (Crush on Helena Bonham Carter has just grown)

Coming home to snuggle up and watch a DVD after gym, instead of hitting the Canberra Centre in search of the end of the sale bargains and to look for a new mobile phone for Rish.

Instead, we did that on Saturday… 4 hours worth of wandering later – I have a new pair of running shoes, Rish has the new Nokia 6220 to play with, and I had REALLY sore feet, and threw a little tanty *heh* Still managed to gym it up, though.

Was going to craash out for an early night but talked into heading out for coktails… I’m so easily persuaded! :) Nice to get out, though I was struggling to stay awake – not so good as I was the designated driver as Rish’s arm probably isn’t right yet for driving… 2:30 bed time.. :)

Had friends over for a BBQ lunch today, to catch up again before we head away. I lost both games of 500, with different partners :p WEll, we technically didn’t lose the last one, it never ended, so maybe we’ll rematch them when we get back from Europe :p (Do they still give out playing cards on airlines? I’d love another deck to add to my collection! I think I’ve heard of them being handed out on Emirates flights – I’ll have to ask :p)

And just now I’ve come back from the oval – sprints across the field with Rish *dies*

So, things hurt, haven’t had much sleep, but I’ve had a wonderful weekend (yes, I even got the washing done) and am ready to hit the four days I have remaining at wor before my holiday! *dances*

So, Babies

Scarily relevant, following last night’s conversation with Rish:

Apparently I’m nearly 26, and while the thought of having kid/s at 30 doesn’t seem that daunting, THAT’S ONLY 4 YEARS OFF (Rish just had a heart attack. sorry dear)…

Love xkcd. It is my life in comic form. (Romance, sarcasm, math, and language? Yes, that’s my life)

Head-first

June 25, 2008 · 0 comments

So, I think I’m going to achieve some sort of sticker-based goal before I head away. Which is nice. Yes, the target number of gym/running sessions has been reduced, but have thrown myself into it head-first for June – hoping to come out of it with better fitness and a reward of a nice out with Rish. Which I’ll earn if I do today, Friday and Saturday. Doesn’t have to be running, or a particular exercise, but I do have to get myself going pretty much every day. Thursdays don’t count – Japanese in the evenings makes it a long enough day without tacking a morning gym session on. Maybe if it was summer I could cope.

Maybe if I wasn’t staying up way past my bedtime chatting online, I could cope, too :p

I’ve been crossing off the days at work (only 10 more actual working days in that! Including today!) but even though I should be getting excitd, it still seems a long way away (2 weeks) until I get to go on my holiday. I have a huge list of things to do at work… and this week has just been a long week in general. Lots of running around that we don’t normally do…

But it’ll be worth it! I’ve already cancelled the newspapers for July, need to put the mail hold form in soon to – probably early next week – So don’t mail me any perishables in July ;)

*puts her beanie on and wraps the blanket tighter*

God, I look sexy tonight. If only I had my ugg boots on. Maybe after my shower?

(I also need to tiday this house – maybe after my shower? maybe in the morning?)

*yawns* have to have the heater on tonight… have the bed to myself :(

Hurts so Good

Did you see the girl in the bright orange t-shirt running along the Kings Avenue bridge late this afternoon with tears streaming down her face? Being asked by her partner whether she wanted to stop and screaming back “No!” while thinking I don’t want to fail over and over in her brain?

*waves*

WE did the 5km loop from the fun-run trying to improve on my time. We walked a small part of it, half the length of the Kings Ave bridge, but ran the rest, and still came in beneath the time form last time. I think it was 30min55sec :) Next time towards the 30 mark.

I thought I was going to die, and finished through a combination of sheer stubborness and fear of failure, along with encouragement from Rish when I wasn’t telling him to shut up. So loving.

Sale Shopped

June 14, 2008

I have some awesomely cheeky new lingerie – little white sailor bra and undies. There’s a little anchor on the front. No, no action shots (unless you ask nicely and privately ;) or bribe me with chocolate *giggles*) These would have really been good for the party the other week. And I have yet another [...]

Marry me in Vegas

June 11, 2008

Over the long-weekend, Rish and I took some time for ourselves and went to see 21 (using the free pass I won courtesy of RHP!) I enjoyed it :) I tend to enjoy most movies that I go to, at least on some level. But this one I walked out of feeling good :) I [...]

Run rabbit

June 11, 2008

Rish told me to run for 8 minutes… so I ran for 10 :) I think I earned my sticker today ;) I did a paltry 6 yesterday. I was to build back up to 30… think I can manage it in the next 3 weeks? Not completely sure, all I can do is push [...]

Why I make the Japanese cry

June 4, 2008

I don’t know my blood type. This revelation was such a shock to my Japanese tutor in last week’s class. We were continuing with basic conversation things, and got to horoscopes, and then to “blood type” and personality based aorund this. I tried to give blood once, and passed out. It was hoped that I [...]

Hot but Deadly

June 2, 2008

So, one of my favourite things in the whole wide world is to have a really hot shower. Just for the sake of the feeling of the hot water. But of course there’s the whole guilt about global warming and water restrictions thing going on there. I’m killing the planet while turning my skin that [...]

Quads of Steel

June 1, 2008

Okay, a little bit shakey on my legs today, after returning to the gym yesterday after being sick – went stright into Pump class, and with a different release that I haven’t done before *dies* crouching to put my groceries away tonight (after having to return to woolies to pick up the bag of cans [...]
