Spring Rain

It’s Spring tomorrow – how exciting! It’s raining today, but you can feel the weather warming up. I’m not even wearing socks! Naked toes! (nearly wore thongs to Woden to do the grocery shop just now, but then thought better of it – but got to wear keds without socks rather than knee high socks and boots which have been necessary lately. *grins*) Floriade is only two weeks away, and you can see the flowers starting to bloom all over Canberra. Emerging from winter.

You have Floriade in Australia! I thought that was a Dutch thing only. But I looked at the website and I saw you have one EVERY YEAR. In Holland they have it every 10 years (I think – I’ve only had 2 in my life time that I know of) and every time it’s at a different location, and they keep that location as a park afterwards. (Kind of like the World Fair does with their locations). The last Floriade in Holland was in 2002, 15 minutes away from my parents house! So they have a really cool big park there now =)
