Happy New Year :)

December 31, 2008 · 0 comments

Yet again I think this year has been the quickest one yet… but then I might just be getting old :P

Have been having a wonderful time up in Newcastle- weather has been brilliant, and finally made it to the beach yesterday. Unfortunately, I got sunburnt beforehand at a cafe :( But it wouldn’t be summer without a little sunburn…

My main resolution for next year would be to not get sick as much! Not quite sure how to achieve that one – besides stopping working with children. There’s always the “lose weight/get fitter” goals – I saw another goal tracker site – “Goal for it” (ahh gotta love a pun!) to add to the list of web based ways to keep myself on track. I like that you can make them public or private… sometimes public goals can keep you on track better!

They even have kids chore charts which I can see being useful for kids that I work with! (I’m always encouraging timetables!)

What are your resolutions for 09?

Celebrating xmas eve i n my cute lil Santa girl outfit (see my facebook pic if you’re curious) .. with Rish telling me he needs to wrap me a present! Enjoying the last night of my chrissy tree lights and USB tree for 2008.

yet again, another year has gone but it was good, though I don’t know where it went.

Am really looking forward to catching up with family and firend, hitting Newcastle beach, provided the weather holds up. I swear it’s rained the last million times we’ve been up there!

Merry Xmas!

Xmas is when now?

December 23, 2008 · 0 comments

Okay.

Importantly -
I’ve had my last gym session of the year. What I do to my poor body now… well so long as the taste buds are happy :p
Last day of work tomorrow. Rumour has it they’re going to let us free at 3pm… Though Tugg C&FC is going at 2, so we’ll see what we can wangle ;)
Two jobs for tomorrow – clean my desk, and empty the fridges at work.. Beyond that, I may get some report writing done, or might distract myself with other things – like making boardmaker visuals and funner things like that!
Leaving for Newie Xmas morning. Hope to hit it about midday, in time for the eating.

*grins*

Merry Xmas, mwah!

5 more days

Okay, whose idea was it for me to work next week? O well, save those leave days for another time, get some more assessments done (we only know they need to be done) and get other things finished off that are hard to do this week, with the parties and the fire alarms.

I now know why Health isn’t allowed to have toasters any more in their staff kitchens. This morning someone burnt toast and the fire brigade came… yesterday it was a smoking plastic container in a microwave. I’m told it wasn’t Tupperware…

So, two work parties today, one more Friday… but it’s all coming at a good time, with more changes coming up at work, allowing us to “debrief” many times over. Still trying to consider what I want to do. I have a preference, and should probably go with that, but am not completely against going the other way… all still a long way away so no point getting too caught up in it…

Finally upgraded to wordpress 2.7 and am oohing and ahhing at the dashboard. Love it.

So, despite running around hyped up on vodka-and-raspberries at the Santa Pub Crawl (pics at that link) last night… I managed to fall over in the street THIS AFTERNOON while out shopping. Actually out on my way back to the car… There was a single step down and I missed in, landing on my hands and knees, stuff everywhere :( No blood, but there will some nice bruises to add to my current collection by Monday.

It’s amazing how a costume or two will break the ice :) Wound up dancing with Santas, angels, elves and… Shane Warne??? sure, why not.

The Christmas run started on December 6 with our anniversary dinner, and continues non-stop now until… we collapse in front of the tv for a brief respite on Boxing day for the cricket… then pick up again for birthdays and new year (PNAU at the Brewery if you’re in Newie)…

There was the AGM and dinner last night where I try to get everyone excited and involved in the local speech pathology australia branch… with wine. That was successful :) Today was the SP discipline chrissy lunch – I came home with fiddlesticks which i THINK are a little like pickup sticks.

First was at Lemongrss Thai – always a favourite and super reliable. Today was at Pialligo Winery. Nice wine… but food was overpriced and .. well not that great. My “risotto” was just rice mixed with the specified ingredients. Nice Gelato, but again just over priced…

So two down.. 3 or so to go in Canberra. 4 if the santa pub crawl counts. more if every other catch up with friends does too.

Thankfully I still have my gym membership!

Elevenses

December 6, 2008 · 0 comments

It’s our anniversary… eleven years since the sweet little 15 year olds that … well we may have been, memories always gloss things over… 11 years since I succumbed to Rish’s charms.

And we’re seriously stronger than ever.

To celebrate… once we get going for the day (had a late one last night… dancing in the gay nightclub cube is the best way to see in a new year together.. and he went out for weapons training while I slept in) Rish is taking me to Sabayon for dinner. There’s also the lighting of the city Christmas Tree tonight… we hung around the tree last year :)

xxx ;)

I love you Rish! :)
