New Toy

Aside from having Rish back (yay!), I also have a new toy :) I got a new phone on the weekend before last, and coated it with a purple devil skin from Smiggle… It WAS a red E63 til then, and I’m posting from it now.

Question: is there a better way to post to wordpress other than from the usual interface?

Ta!

Looking up

Barely a sniffle these past few days, aside from battling with a red curry last night :) Went with friends for dinner and then to see Gomorrah at Dendy. I can’t believe I’ve not been to Dendy in the Canberra Centre until now – the seats are so comfy! And wide! :)

The movie was hard to follow – I kept getting characters mixed up – perhaps if I’d known a little bit of the political/social background it would have been easier. One of the risks of watching something that was loved at Cannes :)

Aside from that, beena pretty cruisy weekend :) Very pleased with the lack of sniffles, but I think I spoke too soon last night before going to Cocoa Black and ordering cake and mousse when I declared that I could eat chocolate without troubles once more. Will have to keep it down to only a little at a time, I think. I had a chocolate truffle the other day, and was fine with that, but too much doesn’t seem to be good!

About to hit the gym, head home, sleep, and wake up tomorrow to know that Rish has probably already landed in Sydney! :)

missed me missed me

(now you’ve got to kiss me)

*waves*

Still alive. Still sniffling. Trying to lose my voice at work – Monday I was really struggling by my last kid of the day “i’m not talking over you, I can’t”…

Work is very very busy, I have a to-do list a mile long and I don’t think I’ve put it all on there…. and then somoen gives me journal articles to read …. maybe to put me to sleep?

Rish has been gone 5 days, 5 to go.

Miss him.

Catching Up

Apparently I’m running in the mother’s day classic 5k tomorrow. I had a gym session on Thursday (light weights session which I kept getting dizzy in) but I haven’t really don’t any other “exercise” as such since about 3 weeks ago when I ran my last 5km (that was my best time to date, less than 29:30)… so don’t know how I’ll go. I’m most well, still have a niggling throat thing, which isn’t too happy when I talk all day at work. But I’m getting there.

Work’s been busy the last few days, of course. A hundred things to catch up on and get back to and re book etc etc… That’s just how it goes.

Now to do the weekend things – news, washing, pottering around…

(oh and I ended up having to have start of the week off work too, damn antibiotics messed around my insides… *sigh*)

?A daily grind

Okay, here’s one for Huong :)

Tracey, over at _sh1ft.org is promoting doing a Day in the Life which is making me reminisce about the “Daily Grinds” we used to do where we would photograph our perfectly boring days, and perhaps find each others’ interesting for the food we ate or perhaps the fact that we were all very boring uni students just in different parts of the would…

This one doesn’t have a restricted date to do it on – just sometime in May. Anyone else want to give it a go with me? I’m not sure what date will be interesting yet, or if I’ll choose one that’s ever so boring :)

Wanting my Nutella!

The plan is to go back to work next week, fit as a fiddle! I’m down to a few coughing fits (had one at 5am this morning) and woke up with a sore throat… and some other semi-related pains due to antibiotics messing with my pill and getting an extra period. *grumbles* Such is life. And I’d rather than that have a worsening chest infection, wouldn’t you? :p

Crumpets have been on special this week -so I’ve been buying them and eating them.. and I’ve been strong even though I bought Rish some Nutino (just a different brand of nutella) I haven’t had any. It’s strangely easy to resist yummy foods when you’ve made a connection between its ingredients and massive stomach pains and other unpleasant side effects. Much more motivating than the fat and sugar content of these things. Chocolate and cream and cheese might lead to weight gain if eaten too much, but then it will also lead to me feeling horrid for the rest of the evening.

At least that’s the theory. I’ve started a food and symptoms type journal to see if there’s other links instead of the dairy one. I like my milk and cheese and chocolate! Feta cheese seems to be okay, but not cracker barrel cheese on toasted sandwiches.

ahhh so looking forward to working again next week. And getting back to the gym!
