Spent 7 hours on the road to and from Sydney (Mt Druitt/Rooty Hill) for a workshop day for one of my subjects. It was a good day – though I wish it had started a little later! Those of us who had traveled from Canberra were there and ready to go at the 8:30am start time, but others were wandering in up until about 9. Grr. “Jokingly” suggested that we should be giving the Sydney-siders a guilt trip, having left home at 5am and all.
I’m probably going to buy some sort of netbook in the next few weeks, to help me with being able to take notes from all my readings, work where ever I like etc. The Samsung N120 looks good, but i have to do my homework on some others before I buy. Hoping to get something that will stick with me over the next 2 years of uni. Any suggestions?

I like LONG division. that’s a good association for sure.
Mine are posted, if you’d like to join me. You’ll need to scroll down my Sunday post to find ‘em. Have a great day. Would love your visit to MY blog!!
Yikes what a day … glad you survived to get do the mutterings :)
At least this uk’an non-cricket player and remember something of the rules!
I never really understood why I was doing long division when I was in Primary School. I’m sure it helped for my later HS subjects though….
You should have had waffles at Rooty Hill..they are freakin awesome!
Nothing wrong with Mounty County (I live there but shhhh dont tell anyone:P)
Waffles? oooh. I’m up there again at the start of Oct, you’ll have to give me more information :p
Wow 5am! :o That’s a frighteningly early start!
Fiona, I was wondering if I could ask you for some recomendations. We’re heading to Canberra this coming weekend and going via Goulburn and Braidwood. Would you have any food recommendations in any of these areas? We’ve got the Paragon booked but aside from that I’m not really in the know? Any help is most appreciated :)
You are sure a good student.
No recommendation for a notebook from me. I wish I had a MAC though.
You need to go to the Bakery in Braidwood

…. Rish always goes there to and from the coast, I’ve been a couple of times and the pastries and yummo! :) It’s on the left if you’re heading towards the coast, right if you’re headed towards Canberra. They have some awesome-looking loaves of bread… but we tend just to get a couple of pastries to split. Coffee is reasonable. There’s a lolly shop across the road…. bit range of sweets
I haven’t spent much time in Goulburn, so no ideas there :)
Canberra? In the city itself – Sammy’s Kitchen on Bunda St for yummy Asian (or Timmy’s in Manuka) or Mama’s Trattoria in Garema Place for Italian (and Gelato if you’re not too cold!). These are both uni-budget friendly places :p La Scala in Garema place is nice too if you’re not in a large group.
Gus’ cafe for coffee and cake. A Canberra institution.
Anh – I wasn’t as good a student yesterday though – too tired from Sat’s efforts!
Those little Asus EEE thingies are really cute. No clue how they work or how they compare to other netbooks but still, cute!
A lot of them are really cute! Like the next long of samsungs that aren’t out just yet….
