So, I got back to work last week, and there was a package of Stolen Recipe ice tea waiting for me. The poor admin staff had had a little worry about it, given it arrived without a name on the address, the name Stolen Recipe, and it came chilled. Liquid explosives, perhaps?
Anyway, according to my emails, I won it to taste test via Tasted by Two… SO here goes…
Been aaaaages since I’ve had shepherds pie, but was inspired by the easy recipe in my De Bortoli wines calendar that came free with a mixed dozen at Christmas. Think I’ll be making this one again!
Didya hear? I uploaded all my holiday photos to Flickr. Woo! Now, you can either be a keen bean and head straight on over there, or wait for the piece by piece installments that will filter through over the coming however long. I’ve decided to go city by city, but will give you the first post about a place I spent over two days – on Malaysia Airlines planes.
MH122 Sydney-KL June 28
Not the best trip – quite a full plane, and the IFE system for the block of seats we were in was screwy (cutting in and out, some buttons not working for Rish so no TETRIS). But they got the food right. For me, that meant they actually had Vegan food where promised. I care not so much about the meat side, I order vegan (VGML) for the lack of dairy and generally low-fat nature of it.
Dinner SYD-KUL. Generic overcooked veges, a pasta salad, fruit for dessert. [click to continue…]
As we know, an election could be called any day, and there’s only a few days after it’s called to make sure you’re enrollment is up to date, or enrol for the first time if you’re 17 years or over, otherwise you could be turned away from the booth, wasting your vote (and risking a fine).
Get some more info on Triple J’s Rock Enrol page or head straight to the AEC website to get enrolling.
(you can check if you’re correctly enrolled here… and it seems like I might not be. but Rish is! hmm… looks like I’m still at my old address! Gonna get enrolling come Monday!)
Yes, it’s brilliant that Australia finally has a female PM, but I’m still a little uneasy with it until the voters return her later this year. I still have this fear that we (as a nation) will show how backwards we can be, by voting in lock-up-your daughters-cos-there’s-no-sex-until-marriage Tony Abbott rather than *gasp* letting a WOMAN take the PM role.
A child-free, atheist, non-married, intelligent, professional woman, at that.
(Julie Bishop, are you ready to step up?)
Don’t screw this up, Australia.
(otherwise you’ll find me back on a plane any second. maybe to Prague, home of the pink telephone dude)
So I’ve been back in Australia for all of 60 hours, have already completed 2 full days of work, updated wordpress, uploaded a bunch of photos to flickr, started a job application because they advertised while I was away – the applications end next week, so I’ve time, and started working on a presentation for [...]
Gummi bears on my pillow at my hotel in Cologne! Having a good time over here, despite tiredness and a case of food poisoning (?from lunch meats or Chinese in Frankfurt). Kicking along. Walking a lot. Having fun, and taking oodles of photos. (I saw a tub of red yellow and black gummi bears for [...]
