De-Stressors

October 12, 2010 · 18 comments

The next 5-6 weeks are going to be a mess of essays, presentations and reports for Uni, all while trying to continue with most of the rest of life… So I may be a little absent in that time.

Would you like to share with the bloggy world what you do to de-stress when everything is just full-on? As a comment, a picture, or your own blog post, please share it here!

And while you’re at in, post below something cute or funny to keep me smiling :D

Good luck with it all! It sure is a crazy time at the moment :)
I like to make sure I fit in my workouts – that’s my way of de-stressing!

Bootcamp yesterday morning kicked my butt… literally my glutes are KILLING me this morning!! :D I’m planning on signing up for 2 sessions a week in the lead up to xmas from start of November, so if I on;t get those two sessions in each week I know they’re good ones!

Bath, book and booze (preferably a nice crisp cold white wine) generally de-stresses me. The other thing that works is turning my music up really loud, i recommend music from your childhood that is terribly corny now, and dancing or cleaning the house. Somehow the combination of music memories, physical exertion and a nice, tidy clean house makes all the worries go away – for a short time anyway :)

heh. I think I’ll be encouraged to do the cleaning one, though the bath sounds great

Sometimes cleaning my apartment destresses me- something about having a shiny kitchen and nice clean sparkly floors.

Good luck with all of your assessment.

I wish I could go back to undergrad days and just sit at a bench and streak plates and just chat with a work mate about stuff and not have to think about anything important.

I’d like to go back to undergrad days too! Or at least ditch the full time work part ;) (and keep the full time earnings?)

I’m doing it tonight since I have been working non stop all day. I’m chilling out in front of some episodes of Dexter, Mad Men and the Inbetweeners :)

I do my dough in the breadmaker :) it works well… though I’m sure kneading would be good for stress!

The beach is a great place to relax. I’m in Chicago, so if I want company, the downtown beaches are great. If I want peace or somewhere where I can let my two boys run wild without having to watch too closely, I take a quick trip to Michigan.

In Michigan, the boys and I take turns doing what we like. While I read they build in the sand. Then we go into the water together for a while before returning back to the sand. At sunset, a quick walk to the local bar/restaurant caps a great day.

Sounds like a plan :)

I think reading under the umbrella on a nice hot beach day can’t come soon enough!
