A few things

March 11, 2011 · 4 comments

  • I don’t like waiting on hold. Especially not on my mobile
  • It’s a long weekend! Yay!
  • The current status on my netbook is they’ve ordered a part
  • Yes, I roll my eyes and try to bite my tongue with limited amounts of success what twitter hashtags like #prayforjapan appear. That clearly makes me a horrible person. I’ll just go burn in hell now, okay?
  • I’m avoiding the images. Because, aside from whip myself into some sort of panic, they’re not going to do anything for me. Not right now.
  • How are we halfway through the term already???
  • I like limes.

Have a great (long) weekend.

I’m a complete skeptic about those hashtags and copy-and-paste Facebook statuses which are somehow meant to raise money. If you really feel passionate about something then it’s actually quite easy to do your part.

Ahem, rant over.

Enjoy your long weekend!

but can’t I do my part in 140 characters or less?

I found it in poor taste that there was a “prayer wave” going around on facebook, complete with little punctuation waves. They’ve just been hit by a tsunami and you’re sending them a prayer wave? REALLY?

I don’t like the #prayfor because it implies that obviously they did something wrong to deserve it and that if they’d prayed harder (or everyone else had) that things would be better. Send money, not prayers!

Religion. Ugh.

Which is why I had to stay away when my feed was being flooded with #prayfortony and #prayforlori because I got more than one vibe that if you weren’t praying you were a terrible selfish person.

*sigh*
