What better way to spend a magnificent Sydney day?

Our plan for Saturday was to head to Circular Quay and hop on a ferry to Manly. Maybe have a picnic, some wine…

But on our way from Martin Place, where we hopped off the train, we wandered past some old buildings, and found ourselves at the Royal Botanic Gardens. A reasonable sized park in which to spend the day ;)

I suggested we take our shoes off an walk on the grass. A wonderful sensory experience! (I don’t recommend it on the hot bitumen though!!!)

Some amazing colours! None of which I captured as well as I’d like. Still adjusting to the camera on the Sony Xperia Arc I’m trialling….

Into the herb garden, I was surprised to learn the shapes of some of the plants!

I spent the weekend in Newcastle. I didn’t fall down any large holes.

Thank you for that safety notice, Newcastle council workers.

(They should include similar ones to prevent oil spills!)

I hope this birdie didn’t get oily…
