When Rish offered to take me out for dinner to celebrate us both getting through a stressful semester at Uni, I of course said yes, and then waited for his to decide where to go :p I’m helpful like that.
We settled on Maestral Seafood Restaurant in Weston. Why? Well, it’s walking distance of home – so we can share a bottle of wine, and the wander home relatively safely. And it was the perfect choice for the end of the 38 degree day we had!
They brought out bread, olives, and what I had thought was a homous-like spread, that turned out to be highly-garlicy. Yums!
I ordered the Silver Dory – it was lemon, thyme, olive oil with capers and anchovies. Yummy chips on the side!
We shared a very home-style Mediterranean Salad. Very much like he one’s Rish’s mum makes!
I didn’t go for dessert, Rish had crepes while I finished my wine – BYO only, but no corkage is a bonus :)
I think we’ll have to go back in winter to try some of their lamb and veal dishes. Couldn’t bring ourselves to order them on such a hot day.
