I’m about to put a pot of soup on, so that I can have warm yummy sound for dinner tonight and so I have food in the fridge for the next couple of days when I can’t be bothered cooking for myself. Two more weeks until Rish gets back.

I don’t wanna go to work tomorrow!

(oh and Lemon ‘V’ tastes like a lemon stoli)

Quads of Steel

Okay, a little bit shakey on my legs today, after returning to the gym yesterday after being sick - went stright into Pump class, and with a different release that I haven’t done before *dies* crouching to put my groceries away tonight (after having to return to woolies to pick up the bag of cans of soup I’d left behind) was MURDER… let alone the light cardio session I did after lunch today… I hear I may be bussing to work … so not looking forward to tackling the hill! *dies again* Damn you squat track!

My first fun run!

I did my first fun run this morning. The 5km race of the Mothers Day Classic to raise money for breast cancer research.

Somehow (with lots and lots of encouragement from Rish! Thanks You!) I finsihed the race. Jogged it all, except for two short, maybe 10m each sections which were up to each bridge - they were steep though, so I certainly wasn’t slacking!! :)

The times will go up on Wednesday, so I’ll see what I did then :) Rish will then have evidence that i am able to run 5km, so should therefor do it more often with him :p

edit: I did it in 31:55!!! :)

Aside from being able to raise money for charity by running, this is all of course also in aid of me being the sexiest mermaid out there… at least next weekend at the sea-themed party we’re going to :)

Of course I don’t yet have a mermaid costume, but the idea is there. Do you think I can get seashells to make the top out of from Spotlight in Queanbeyan? ;)

Steamboat

Last night we had Matt and Hannah over for a steamboat dinner… we’d brought the steamboat down from Newcastle last time we were there, and were itching to give it a try.

I spent an hour after the gym sourcing the ingredients … firstly to make my own stock - I’ve never made stock before, so went off to find a chicken carcass. 85cents! Bargain!

Then what to cook in the steamboat? Scallops, fish balls, baby octopus, callamari, chicken, tofu, and lotsa yummy veges like carrot, baby corn and bok choi. And some sauces for dipping into. The others seemed to like the oyster sauce best, while I stuck with the soy. The sweet chilli wasn’t touched, and the teriaki had a little bit of a look-in.

(There’s some nice picture’s of other people’s steamboats here. I have a few photos from last night, but I still haven’t managed to get the camera to download onto this computer, and if Rish’s laptop is here, I can’t login because he hs fingerscan access. Bah!)

So, we stuffed ourselves. Also some yummy steamed barbeque pork buns, nice wine, and my favourite home coucktail of the moment - shot of vodka, shot of frangelico, juice of a lime (they call it an Angel’s Kiss on the Frangelico website. ). Yums. And then Matt and I proceeded to beat Hannah and Rish in cards. Firstly Canasta (which Rish and I had been taught the night before) and then 500. Sweet :p

=^.^=

Something else great about yesterday - there was a top I bought maybe 6 weeks back, and I liked it in the shop… but then when I got it home and put it back on I realised that it looked disgusting on me, highlighting all the bulges exactly where I didn’t want them to be hightlighted! But I wore it yesterday. My tummy is getting flatter, but I swear my bottom is bigger. Or sticking out more. Or other thigns are getting smaller and it’s just getting more muscly or something. I don’t know. All I know it my body is gradually changing shape, so all the lumps and bumps are where they should be and less of them are the form of wobbly fat and more toned happy muscles. Yay! :) Now to keep this up!

Teresa is holding a new contest over at her personal blog. Those entering have a chance at winning a lovely and uniquely designed dandelion handbag by Rebecca Weis. Teresa is willing to ship this item anywhere, so anyone can participate. I’m a sucker for a new bag (if I ever when I make it to 68kg, I’m going to buy myself a new one!), so I know I’ll enter. She designed the blog theme I’m using :) Isn’t it sweet?

She just wants to snuggle

You know those Saturday nights that you realise are going to sit with you for the rest of the week? The ones where you’re heading to bed at sunrise, later than I get up half the week? Hit the bed at 6am today, and I can never sleep for long enough on those mornings, so went back to bed with a screaming headaache about 3. Now I’m wandering around the house in a blanket. Not because I’m that cold, though it is autumn for sure today, but because I like the snuggle.

It’s school holidays for two weeks! I don’t get a break, but I get to make less phone calls, playing phone-tag with teachers. It also means I can take some of my flex time off - going to have Friday off, getting my contact lenses trialled yay! Also getting my flu shot tomorrow morning.

Lace me in

Had a disasterous afternoon shopping with Rish yesterday. Hating everything I tried on, hating sizings, hating that I can’t be a more common bra size, wishing I was just looking for shoes… but it has all motivated me today. So what, I couldn’t fit nicely into the size twelves I was trying on in dresses - I have a few cm to lose, I just need to work harder. Yes, I know a 14A is not the most easy to find bra size. There a two options there - stick with the Bonds bras that fit me well, while woring towards being a 12 again. I can do that.

I know I haven’t been the most motivated the past week or so - 4 days straight of PD is an “excuse” … but a pretty poor one. I didn’t have to eat the snacks and junk sitting on the table. I could have squeezed in an extra gym session if I’d gotten myself out of bed, but throwing in a few late nights, while I should have probably been asleep in my own bed, not that good for an early gym start.

But I went yesterday and pedalled on a bike. Not much of a sweat, given that I was all snotty with this stupid cold, it wasn’t too bad. And today I went back, jogged a little, and will hit the jogging properly again tomorrow. But I did well on the elliptical.

Different motivators? Being able to fit a sexy corset that fits me. Yes, there were some held back tears when I realised that the size 12 Pleasure State corset I was trying on was going to slowly kill me if I stayed in it. But I will get there, and there are a few events to aim for. :) I have a thing for hot lingerie, so want to be able to wear the pieces I want!

If the gym closes at 7

Then you can probably not get there at seven to do your workout. Simple as that. Though it didn’t occur to me until I was about to leave for teh gym just then with Rish… Something to do with a lack of sleep, a fair amount to drink last night, and a 30 degree day today. *dies* But it’s happy dying. I went for a walk instead. *bangs head*

I’ve had a good long weekend. Hurrah for Canberra Day. Now I have a four-day week ahead, then another four-day week, with the four-day Easter long weekend to follow that! I should be making my way up to Newcastle over Easter.

  10. Help :: I need somebody
And it begins

Canberra’s children are heading back to school today. Should see the evidence of that all over - yesterday it was the masses of children and parents in the stationery aisle at Woolworths, and the lines at Just Cuts for that back to school trim. (even spied a couple of kids I hoped were going into kindy walking around in their school uniforms, including hat!).

School Zone Today the traffic will increase. I’ll have to drive through several school zones. Hopefully there won’t be too many parents doing incredibly stupid things driving-wise in their four wheel drives outside the schools. You know, lik parking across the school crossing so little Jenny can get a safe run in, other kids be damned.

Should also get busier for me at work. With school being back, parents and teachers will start contacting about what they need to be doing this year with the kids, and my diary should be booking up.

Today though, it’s just meetings. One with the other speechies who go to the special schools, two supervision meetings (I get two supervisors, aren’t I lucky?) and another one to sort out what to do with the kindy kids. Don’t have netball tonight to take out any of the fidgetyness I get into the day (probably a good thing as my knee hasn’t been too happy this weekend)… but will have to gym it out tonight.

I’m thinking my sister should have gotten us girls to sign Bridesmaids Prenups

Out with the old

Mum and I thought that my sister might need a lacy blue garter for her wedding. We’re nice like that! Also spent hours looking for a bag for Mum… Long day so far… I’m also thrown out so much CRAP that was horded in my old room at my parents place, and am sniffling like mad with the cat fur and dust that I stirred up. But it was a good old clean! :)

Dinner For One

Rish is off to the Gold Coast for the week to attend Ninja Camp (at least that’s what phil called it - it’s a martial arts camp and grading/comp week for the weapons arts he does)… well at least he will be once Sydney Airport reopens - poor thing, it’s closed due to the bad weather up there!

So for me that means extr time to myself, missing him (at nights mostly - though I tend to get over it whe I realise how much space I have in bed!), but also it means cooking for myself. I mean, I cook or help cook dinner most nights, but I tend to lack motivation when it’s just me. I’m not one for cooking up a big stir-fry for the week (two nights, yes, but 3 nights plus a couple of lunches? kill me now, please!)… so I usually resort to salads and small pieces of meat.

Yes, I’m doing the same this week!My trolley looked oh-so-dinner-for-one this afternoon as I pushed it around woolies. Maybe it was the extra Weight Watchers microwave meals I added in (for lunchs and for when I really cannot be bothered!). I also had a huge bag of tomatoes, and some chickpeas, to mix it up a little I think I might experiment a bit with the spices in the pantry :)

I’ve also tried to plan my lunche this week - breadrolls, tins of tuna, and extra salad for these… also dried apricots and fruit cups for easy snacking. Otherwise it’s across to the cafe near work and chocolates from the kitchen…

I now need to make a to-do list of things to achieve that I rather do when Rish is away because it means I’m not aking from our time… like

  • Dying my hair. I have another purplish colour under the bathroom sink, waiting for me to make a mess with. I had contemplated doing something different, but I may leave that until after my sister’s wedding (Feb 23)
  • Waxing eyebrows. It’s just a neatening up his time, so I think I can manage for myself, but I will have to book a proper appointment because the wedding so I can look so hot right now. I don’t think I’ve really mentioned the wedding on here, so I shall have to do some filling in posts (I have one up my sleeve about a dream I had last night, involving chairlifts to the church)
  • Any upgrading that I need to do web-wise. And Layout muckings about

I Think that’s it for things I’d rather leave til when Rish is very busy… but I have a one other thing to achieve this week:
Daily gym sessions. I did a big cardio one today, so I’ll fit in my “sunday” weights session tomorrow, after netball, because we have an early game. It’s rediculous that the game times vary from 6pm to 9:20pm…

Okay, some mutterings just hit my in-box. Here goes!

  1. President :: Nixon. (huh??)
  2. Stare :: Care bear stare!
  3. Embrace :: engulf
  4. Movie :: home movie
  5. Everything :: and anything
  6. Profile :: pictues
  7. Satire :: The Chaser!
  8. Erratic :: deliveries. Like Tait and Johnson in the test this week.
  9. Costume :: Cosplay
  10. Secretary :: The Secretary. It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for ;)

she could be MY gilfriendI’m going to be singing Avril Langine “Hot” all night (damn is she hot in the film clip *swoons* I love a good corset and riding crop ensemble…) Due to using the word “rediculous” above and seeing the clip at the gym today. Guilty pleasures? Avril!
