It starts… now

SO, Last year I got an It’s all about me diet and exercise journal, and used it religiously for about 8 weeks, lost a few kilos, then slowly petered out… to the point where over the past few months I’m heavier than my original starting weight…

So, I bought a new one. Started on Friday, properly did my measurements this morning… and am probably glad I did, given the freak out I had over all my clothes being crap and not fitting properly into a size twelve any more and a cute shirt I bought looking horrible on me after I brought it home and tried it on again. Reducing me of course to tears…

So, of course I lean of Rish to whip me into shape … and we start with some goals. With numbers in them. Numbers like 64, 20 and 10. Oh and 5 and 2. And phrases like “I can” and “I will”.

Tonight should probably be the last round of netball… I doubt we’ll make it to the final next week ;) WE barely scraped in at 4th… so I’m planning on picking up a monday circuit class – provided I get to the gym on time. It starts at 530, so I’ll go to it the weeks I make it there, and other weeks I’ll do something on another night – maybe a pump or step class on a Wednesday.

So, yet again, I’m getting back to it, but this time I will have Rish over my shoulder (I got him a jounral too, in black for boys) so we can be at each other :p

Two Right Feet

Okay, while I sit here destroying my hair with yet another bleach and dye job (it was falling out beforehand, so why not now?) I’ll retell to you my day.

6am: Awoken by the daily cockatoo flyover. Actually the flyover was a little later than this, because I remember hearing the snakes’ task light turn on before that, and that’s about 6am. Wildlife!

7am: Okay, I’ll get up now. Breakfast – tried Oatbrits, which are like Vitabrits, which are like WeetBix. They’re nice, I just never get the milk right. With banana on top. Mmm.

my keds!730am: Gotta get ready. Clothes, yep, now shoes… ooh my new Keds I bought last week. WTF?!?!?!! There’s two right shoes in here! Both size nines. Cranky! They’d better still haev my lefties!!!

8am or so: Work. Not too much excitement. Get to discharge someone because they are within the average range. I don’t get to do that nearly often enough.

12: To visit the nurse for my 2nd gardasil shot. Done. Soreish arm. Haping I don’t get knocked around too much at netball tonight.

Rest of afternoon: Pottering around, finishing activity packs and programs, making sure I have my list as small as possible before the kinder kids come up from the early childhood team…

5pm: Get my left shoe. Put them on. Awesome. Guys in shop laugh.

6:40pm: Netball. Play the second half for the team before me who were down a player then lost another to injury. Play our game which decends into a vilent match because the umpire was useless and didn’t call any real contacts. Against eaither side. We lose by about 3 :( Our GA gets a bloody nose and their shooter a sore wrist. Not too bad, though I did want to smash their goal attack at one stage. Breathe!

I’ve skipped gym, but after over an hour of netball I was soore from being landed on and landing on people. Tomorrow morning I’ll hit the weights *sets 530 alarm* and do my pm cardio session.

Alrighty, I have to go wash this bleach out of my hair before I go oragey, then go over it with something that purple in nature. :) We’ll see if I show my face tomorrow!

Dinner For One

Rish is off to the Gold Coast for the week to attend Ninja Camp (at least that’s what phil called it – it’s a martial arts camp and grading/comp week for the weapons arts he does)… well at least he will be once Sydney Airport reopens – poor thing, it’s closed due to the bad weather up there!

So for me that means extr time to myself, missing him (at nights mostly – though I tend to get over it whe I realise how much space I have in bed!), but also it means cooking for myself. I mean, I cook or help cook dinner most nights, but I tend to lack motivation when it’s just me. I’m not one for cooking up a big stir-fry for the week (two nights, yes, but 3 nights plus a couple of lunches? kill me now, please!)… so I usually resort to salads and small pieces of meat.

Yes, I’m doing the same this week!My trolley looked oh-so-dinner-for-one this afternoon as I pushed it around woolies. Maybe it was the extra Weight Watchers microwave meals I added in (for lunchs and for when I really cannot be bothered!). I also had a huge bag of tomatoes, and some chickpeas, to mix it up a little I think I might experiment a bit with the spices in the pantry :)

I’ve also tried to plan my lunche this week – breadrolls, tins of tuna, and extra salad for these… also dried apricots and fruit cups for easy snacking. Otherwise it’s across to the cafe near work and chocolates from the kitchen…

I now need to make a to-do list of things to achieve that I rather do when Rish is away because it means I’m not aking from our time… like

  • Dying my hair. I have another purplish colour under the bathroom sink, waiting for me to make a mess with. I had contemplated doing something different, but I may leave that until after my sister’s wedding (Feb 23)
  • Waxing eyebrows. It’s just a neatening up his time, so I think I can manage for myself, but I will have to book a proper appointment because the wedding so I can look so hot right now. I don’t think I’ve really mentioned the wedding on here, so I shall have to do some filling in posts (I have one up my sleeve about a dream I had last night, involving chairlifts to the church)
  • Any upgrading that I need to do web-wise. And Layout muckings about

I Think that’s it for things I’d rather leave til when Rish is very busy… but I have a one other thing to achieve this week:
Daily gym sessions. I did a big cardio one today, so I’ll fit in my “sunday” weights session tomorrow, after netball, because we have an early game. It’s rediculous that the game times vary from 6pm to 9:20pm…

Okay, some mutterings just hit my in-box. Here goes!

  1. President :: Nixon. (huh??)
  2. Stare :: Care bear stare!
  3. Embrace :: engulf
  4. Movie :: home movie
  5. Everything :: and anything
  6. Profile :: pictues
  7. Satire :: The Chaser!
  8. Erratic :: deliveries. Like Tait and Johnson in the test this week.
  9. Costume :: Cosplay
  10. Secretary :: The Secretary. It’s the quiet ones you have to watch out for ;)

she could be MY gilfriendI’m going to be singing Avril Langine “Hot” all night (damn is she hot in the film clip *swoons* I love a good corset and riding crop ensemble…) Due to using the word “rediculous” above and seeing the clip at the gym today. Guilty pleasures? Avril!

At least it smells nice

A run of bad luck before netball tonight

  1. My shampoo kinda exploded through my bag. At least that smells nice and it’s only soap, afterall
  2. I forgot my dodgy game/I might have them knocked off my face glasses. Fortunately I did not get hit in the face tonight. Unlike last game
  3. My hair band snapped just as I was tying my hair up (I had it out all day and got lots of compliments!) So had to dash across to superbarn to pick some up
  4. Forgot my water bottle. Picked up some bottled water when getting hair bands
  5. We lost netball

But I had fun, and we aren’t playing until a couple of weeks into January – with the humidity it was sweltering in the courts today.

I think I’ll go for a morning cardio session tomorrow, as I doubt I’ll get there tomorrow night, I think there’s a trip to the pub after work lined up for me. More food and alcohol – just what I need!

We have kangaroo sausages and salad for tea (aka ‘kanga bangers’). Low-fat and amusing all at once!

So long as it’s fine for Pole-Dancing this weekend…

So, after whinging about Netball on Monday night – I get there, play for a few minutes and there’s a sharp pain in my back… argh!!! pulled something leaping around… of course I played out the quarter (silly me!) but then I had to stop :( Sat through the next couple of quarters on the sideline – lucky we had 9 players that night!!! Waited for the nausea and shaking to subside – does anyone else get referred-type plain when you do stuff in that central area?

Drove home – checking blind spots was interesting! Turning my neck was a little tricky!

Could only find aspirin – so a hot shower was suggested by Rish then off to bed for a restless night’s sleep…

Still felt sore yesterday – mostly in the back and a little quesay – but thought I could hack it at work – which was fine except having groups meant sitting on the floor and it awkward positions at little desks – so by lunchtime ‘m tired, and a little miserable, so headed home for a nice long nap!

Still went in for my gym session – took it easy on the recumbent bikes for 2 x 30mins… felt a little looser. :)

Today I’ve had to sit through a full day of PD (on Autism and the TEACCH program) so not overly happy in the back, but getting there….

Is it wrong that my priority is feeling good for the first hen’s night I’ve ever been to, and pole dancing??? :) I wanna give it the best shot I can and still have a good night… THat reminds me – I still need to take those red heels to get fixed!!

That’s the thing about Netball

Why oh why don’t we just forfeit our 9:20pm netball games?

Another team forfeited on us two weeks ago because “they work in a law firm at can’t do 6pm games”… well we work all over the shop and can’t cope with the lack of sleep from a 9:20pm start, 10pm finish, drive home, shower, calm myself down and then hopefully hit bed around 11pm.

Especially since Tuesdays are group days at work for two of us, meaning we must be super-alert, and be able to do the behaviour management that’s needed for speech and language groups…

*blinks*

But of course, we love it, especially when we win. :p But you realise that just hypes us up even more!
