Now, to improve

Went back to Posture and Flexibility class last night – I’m glad it was on because last night I really wasn’t up to doing anythign silly like running 5k. No, I did that this morning. Both went well – I got some good hip flexor stretching going once I got my calf muscles out of the picture (and had a chair for balance!) and this morning I didn’t stop to walk at any point. not even going up to the second bridge! Admittedly, I think my quads left me on the final dash to the end … but that’s okay :)

Got some cheap steaks and salad for dinner from the Civic pub after gym last night. Good value for $6.50. Good company too, nice to catch up with people after Christmas break.

And now I need to take my contact lenses out – I think I’ve been awake too long!

P&F week 2

Focus: pecs and shoulders!

It’s interesting to work through why you might be able to get more stretch on one side than another… I was able to get a better pec strectch on my left side today… and this seemed to be because of my weaker and less tight left arm muscles. Not that I have awesome right guns *giggles* but they do work more!

Tonight’s class was exactly what I needed after sitting all day listening to other presentations. I learned some things today … about handwriting to start with and all the body functions that work towards good handwriting, as well as the benefits of hippotherapy.

But my take home message for me today was that I need to do more data collection. To “prove” what I “know” works. I can see I think how I might incorporate that into a group on Friday. Insprired, and tired.

Posture & Flex

Since it’s a day for “getting back to things”… I got back to Posture and Flexibility class tonight. I took my first semester of it.. hmm probably over summer 2006/07, and here I am 08/09 ready for season two.

Intermediate level.

My poor calves! I have super stong (even commented on by the instructor today who was trying to hold my heel on the floor as I lifed it) but super inflexible calf muscles… which is a reason that this class is brilliant for me. Today’s class focussed on muscles innervated by the Sciatic Nerve.. so legs! So not easing back into this!!!

*grins* but i love it, love pushing like that … I just need to keep my knee straight!
