pirates

Because I know some of you want to see how I turned out as a pirate:

Words may follow later, but for now, I had a great weekend, and need to go to bed :)

A quick note about the paddle (weapon of choice) – the theme was Naughty and Nautical :) If you want one of your own, you can get pink paddles from the little costumes area (you know, with the naughty nurse outfits and barely-there teddies) from Bras n Things. You don’t even have to venture beyond you local Westfield!

Pirate is Go

May 17, 2008 · 0 comments

Just finishing tidying the house etc and getting my pirate costume together to head up to Sydney.

We’ve managed to arrange to meet up with a friend from High School which will be nice :)

I’m still not feeling 100% – when I went to bed last night I think the anitibiotic reacted with me and I felt like vomiting but.. not quite. So I just felt crap for awhile. Rish is getting me some cold and flu tablets too (real ones, with pseudoephedirine), because my nose has been running like a tap this morning. Don’t worry, I’m not combining too many medications – the anitbiotics are over, I’m now just taking dactarin for the oral thrush that I’ve gotten by stuffing my body around with anitibiotics. Yes, a new trouble to have. So much fun.

Back to it next week. I will be healthy, get to the gym each day, work each day, go to my Japanese class (had to miss the one on Thursday :( ) and just be a normal human being again.

But I have to be a pirate now. A pink one. Arrghhh :p

So, I’ve found my inspiration for a costume:

So far I have:

  • A cheap black skirt to cut a jagged edge on
  • My pink/black corsetty lacey top
  • Black boots
  • Silver hoops
  • Black nail polish
  • Black fishnets
  • Hot pink fishnets (because I thought I might try them. If they look crap, I’ll wear black. ?layers)
  • A metre of black satin
  • A metre of Hot pink satin
  • A new hot pink bra and blank and hot pink undies

I still need the piratey bits and pieces, like swords and eye patch and a hat. But Someone at work is bringing her kids’ pirate stuff in tomorrow and I can use that.

Should I make emo punk wristbands/gloves from the satin? Most of it will be used to sash around my waist… hehe. I’m having fun… it should turn out reasonable :) Forget the ugly baby mermaid, I’m a pirate!
