Thai

So, the plan was to hit up Love Tilley Devine for a nice riesling and some chattter, but alas, things are closed on a Monday night, so we wound up with our third choice bottle of wine, a spicy Thai Beef Salad and a Pad thai (of course) at Thai Lemongrass in Darlinghurst.

I wasn’t given much help on the pad thai (not that I could give much on the beef! too spicy for sensitive girls), so I didn’t get through it all. But yummy with good company all the same.

Went to Thai on Sky for a work farewell dinner. I was only ever going to stay until seven, so when everyone started showing up after 6:30, when I’d been there since six on the dot, I was slightly over it, so no wonder I wasn’t overly fussed on my $14 pad thai :\

Thai on Sky, Mortdale

Too… mushy.

Oh well. It lasted me through the long train trip up to Cardiff. Where I wasn’t mugged by bananas. Ahh, Newcastle.

Pad Thai Mae Moon Thai, Penshurst

Not as tangy as I’d like, but nice all the same. $12.90.

It was my Dad’s birthday on Friday, and since he was in Canberra for work, we caught up for dinner. My parents don’t eat much non-western food, so when I suggested Thai when walking past it, Dad adventurously said “We can give it a try!”

Three Mothers Thai Civic

I ALWAYS have pad thai and massamum beef. The Pad Thai here was nice, and the Mussamum has nice quality melty yummy beef, though I would have preferred it to have more coconut milk :)

For our third dish, Mum wanted some veges, so I thought maybe a Satay tofu would be nice. This one had a nice smokey flavour to it. There’s Chinese broccoli underneath

It all came out super fast, and there were leftovers to take home :)

penang curry

Rish made this awesome Penang curry on Sunday night. Delicious, and full of veges!

More Thai for weston creek

And, where My’s Vietnamese used to be, there’s going to be another Thai place – does Weston Creek really need a third Thai restaurant?

Awesome!

Pad Thai @ River Kwai

Perhaps it just reminds me of Nara Thai‘s Pad Thai (ah nostalgia – worked there through uni), but I grabbed the Pad Thai from River Kwai for dinner last night, and it was awesome. $15 and yum. (with prawn chips thrown in!)
