Childhood Memories and Tron Legacy (+ Giveaway)

The original Tron film was released 2 weeks before I was born (I was born a month and a day after Prince William if you want a different reference point), so it wasn’t really a part of my childhood… unlike, say, Transformers which was one of the morning cartoons for me, along with Cities of Gold and the Wizard of Oz cartoon. So, watching an “updated” version wasn’t so traumatic with Tron…

(was anyone else freaked out as a child by Return to Oz?? I loved it, but it was freaky!)

So, watching Tron is unlike the fun of rewatching the original Transformers movie over Xmas… especially the moment of “Did he just say what I thought he said?”

Probably better on the big screen and in 3D, but a cute story with cheesy parts nonetheless! ;) I’m sure we’ll be on the grid one day, soon…. With those hot security chicks in white near the start!!!

If you want an actual review, see Leechboy’s work over at Stuff with Thing.

  1. When I was in about Year 8 there was a fellow student who caught the same bus as me, and she always had lipstick, eyeshadow and eyeliner on (even though we werent supposed to wear makeup). I always looked up to her, but the funny thing was I imagined her to be 27 or so! Impossible as she was in Year 12, but it’s weird how you imagine things so different to reality when you’re young!

  2. So, I didn;t even know what Tron was… Something that isn’t how I remembered it? Paddle pops. They don’t taste chocolatey to me anymore, just sweet.

  3. I remember watching the movie Labyrinth as a child and the junkyard scene was so scary it gave me nightmares.
Watching it now I dont know why it scared me so much.

  4. Things are pretty much as I remember them when I was a child :)

Tweeted AGAIN and Put it on my Stalkbook too so hopefully worth an entry :)

  5. the woods behind our yard seemed huge when i was a kid, now it’s a 5 minute walk to the other side, puny

What do you think?
