The day after the Global Atheist Convention, Rish and I went with a couple of Sydneyites to The Hardware Sociéte, tucked away on Hardware St, Melbourne, for breakfast. Breakfast extended to 11:30, awesomely for a Monday, but they are very strict with that as the cut-off time.
Rish started with an amazing mocha, basically an espresso shot, with a jug of hot chocolate. The hot chocolate itself came as a clump of chocolate in a cup, with about two cups worth of hot chocolate in the side mug. Ultra-sweet!
My soy latte was at a perfect drinkable temperature, and awesome. Two went down quite welcomely.
Rish selected one of the versions of baked eggs, with chorizo and romanasco, while Ash had the (ultra rich) baked eggs, with sausage, pesto and olives. She didn’t make it through, though you could blame it on starting with the hot chocolate!
I ate “Le Sandwich”, while Mike had my second choice, sardines on toast
The Hardware Sociéte was one of those place I’d never have found without Foursquare, and the fact it was recommended by my food blogger contacts on there.
