Angelo Dawkins is one of WWE’s most recognizable tag team wrestlers and a key member of The Street Profits. Known for his impressive size, athletic ability, charisma, and powerful wrestling style, Dawkins has built a successful career alongside his longtime partner, Montez Ford. Together, The Street Profits have become one of WWE’s most accomplished modern tag teams.

Although Dawkins initially spent years developing his skills in WWE’s developmental system, his partnership with Ford transformed his career. The duo eventually captured championship gold across NXT, Raw, SmackDown, and the main-roster tag team divisions. Their success has made Angelo Dawkins an important figure in WWE’s tag team wrestling landscape.

Who Is Angelo Dawkins?

Angelo Dawkins is the ring name of Gary Gordon, a professional wrestler from Cincinnati, Ohio. He stands approximately 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 260 pounds, giving him a powerful physical presence inside the ring.

Before becoming a professional wrestler, Dawkins was a talented multi-sport athlete. His athletic background included football, wrestling, and track, giving him a strong foundation for his eventual transition into sports entertainment.

That background has played an important role in his wrestling style. Dawkins combines strength with athletic movement, allowing him to complement the faster and more aerial approach of his Street Profits teammate, Montez Ford.

Angelo Dawkins’ Early WWE Career

Angelo Dawkins joined WWE’s developmental system long before becoming a household name. His early years involved training and experimenting with different tag team partnerships while he worked to improve his abilities.

Dawkins has previously discussed how difficult those early years were. When he first began training, he had very little wrestling experience and had to learn the fundamentals from the beginning. Over time, working with experienced wrestlers and coaches helped him become more confident and comfortable performing in front of audiences.

His willingness to continue improving eventually led to the formation of one of WWE’s most successful modern tag teams.

Angelo Dawkins and The Street Profits

The biggest turning point in Angelo Dawkins’ career came when he teamed with Montez Ford to form The Street Profits.

The partnership worked because the two wrestlers had contrasting but complementary styles. Dawkins brought size, strength, and power, while Ford brought explosive athleticism and spectacular aerial maneuvers.

Their chemistry quickly became apparent in NXT. The Street Profits developed a charismatic presentation that combined confidence, humor, energy, and athletic wrestling.

The team became popular with fans and eventually established itself as a serious championship contender.

Winning the NXT Tag Team Championship

The Street Profits reached an important milestone at NXT TakeOver: XXV in 2019. Dawkins and Ford won the NXT Tag Team Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match.

The victory was particularly meaningful for Dawkins because of the amount of time he had spent developing within WWE. After years of training and working toward his goals, he finally captured championship gold.

The NXT Tag Team Championship victory helped establish The Street Profits as one of the standout teams in NXT and prepared them for their eventual move to WWE’s main roster.

Angelo Dawkins on WWE’s Main Roster

After succeeding in NXT, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford moved to WWE’s main roster. The Street Profits quickly became major players in the tag team division.

Their popularity continued to grow because of their energetic entrances, entertaining personalities, and exciting matches. They competed against several established teams and eventually captured the Raw Tag Team Championship.

Their success did not stop there. The Street Profits later moved to SmackDown and captured the SmackDown Tag Team Championship as well.

The Street Profits Become Triple Crown Tag Team Champions

One of the biggest accomplishments of Angelo Dawkins’ career is becoming part of a tag team that won championships across WWE’s major brands.

The Street Profits have captured the NXT Tag Team Championship, Raw Tag Team Championship, and SmackDown Tag Team Championship. This achievement placed Dawkins and Ford among WWE’s Triple Crown Tag Team Champions.

Their ability to win championships on different brands demonstrated their versatility and longevity. It also showed that their success was not limited to one particular era or division.

Angelo Dawkins and Bobby Lashley

Another important chapter in Dawkins’ WWE career came when The Street Profits formed an alliance with former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.

The group became known as The Pride, combining Lashley’s power with the athleticism and charisma of Dawkins and Ford. The partnership created a formidable faction and gave The Street Profits another opportunity to compete in prominent WWE storylines.

For Dawkins, working alongside an established main-event star such as Lashley provided another opportunity to develop his character and showcase his abilities.

Angelo Dawkins’ Wrestling Style

The wrestling style of Angelo Dawkins is built around strength, physicality, and athleticism. At his size, he can overpower opponents and deliver impactful strikes and power moves.

His role within The Street Profits is particularly effective because he provides a contrast to Montez Ford. Ford is known for his explosive high-flying offense, while Dawkins often serves as the team’s powerhouse.

This combination allows The Street Profits to compete against a wide range of opponents. Their matches can include technical exchanges, power wrestling, high-flying sequences, and fast-paced tag team action.

Angelo Dawkins’ Recent WWE Career

In 2026, The Street Profits returned to WWE television after a period away from the ring. The team moved to Raw and immediately became involved in a storyline with The Vision.

The return gave Dawkins another opportunity to compete at a high level and reconnect with WWE fans. The Street Profits eventually captured the World Tag Team Championship from The Vision on the June 22, 2026, episode of Raw.

Their championship reign was brief, however, as The Vision regained the titles on July 6, 2026.

Despite the short reign, the victory demonstrated that WWE continues to view Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford as important members of its tag team division.

Why Is Angelo Dawkins Important to WWE?

Angelo Dawkins represents the kind of wrestler who demonstrates the importance of persistence and long-term development. His career did not become successful overnight. He spent years working in WWE’s developmental system before finding the right partnership with Montez Ford.

The Street Profits’ success also highlights Dawkins’ ability to adapt. He developed from a relatively inexperienced wrestler into a multi-time tag team champion who has competed on some of WWE’s biggest stages.

His story can be particularly inspiring to younger wrestlers because it shows that success can come through patience, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What Is Next for Angelo Dawkins?

The future of Angelo Dawkins is closely connected to The Street Profits, but his individual growth remains an interesting part of his career.

Dawkins has already achieved major accomplishments as a tag team wrestler. The next challenge could involve another championship run, new rivalries, or opportunities to showcase more of his abilities in singles competition.

As long as The Street Profits remain together, their combination of Dawkins’ power and Ford’s athleticism gives them the potential to remain a major force in WWE’s tag team division.
