For Rish’s conference in Brisbane, we stayed at Oaks 212 Margaret. We were in a one bedroom apartment on the 12th floor.
The bedroom had a sliding door to close off from the living area/tv, and to shut out some noise, which worked well for me on the mornings Rish got up early to work while I lay in bed being lazy :p The bed itself I couldn’t complain about, a little more comfy than my bed at home, but I still managed to get a sore neck and plenty of bouts of pins and needles.
The tv was nice, the couch comfy enough. I ran into the coffee table firs day and got a nice bruise :p Note the aircon – the unit was there near the door, but I suppose if you needed cooling in the bedroom you’d need to leave the sliding door open.
Noise wasn’t too bad, though there was a bit of construction going on, and the cuitains didn’t quite block out the light :p
The bathroom contained a shower/bath – hot water took awhile to kick in but was good once there. SHower head a little too low for hair washing – you know what I mean so you have to tilt or suck a little. There was a washer and dryer while we didn’t use… No soap place on the basin, which left me leaving my hand soap on the bench.
Servicing (towel change, bed making) was daily … though I think I embarrassed the guy who was on one day when I answered in my towel ;) Do not disturb sign was honored when in place :)
Kitchen was good sized for a small place. Real hotplates, plenty of utensils.
I didn’t use the pool.. I did go down to the gym, but the elliptical was awkward and kept going off, and the bike slipped out of position, so I opted for what I should have done in the first place – a run by the river!
The balcony was perfect for dinner…
or nerding online!!
